The Christmas Magic in You!

A story of Santa seeing the kindness growing in every kid.

Our little ones are so flexible and adaptive, and they are always trying to make sense of what is happening around them. There are so many ways we can support them to make sense of big changes in positive ways. Let’s create books that have a positive impact on little ones.

Available Books

Big Sister and Big Brother Learn All About Babies (Series)

The All About Babies Book Series was written to reflect the experiences of a new big brother or sister, as their new sibling grows and changes in the first two years. As babies develop new skills, older siblings face new challenges and also find new ways to play with the baby.

These books highlight sibling fun and trouble, from tickling newborn toes, to teething, crawling and grabbing for toys, and learning to walk and talk. The books also highlight safe ways to be with a new baby, like washing hands and cleaning up those small toys around curious babies.

Soaring with Angels

Soaring with Angels was written about baby Camden, who was born with Trisomy 13. He passed away just a few days after he was born. The story was written for older siblings, like Camden's brother, who are trying to understand the anticipation of a new baby, followed by unexpected loss. The story aims to encourage conversation between young children and their parents, while addressing both the difficult emotions and a strong sense of love that carries with the family.

Making Sense of Big Changes for Little Ones.

As a mom of two little ones, I started searching for books that would help them understand the big things happening in their life. My first book was one I made on Shutterfly for my daughter. I wanted to help her understand what would happen when we moved from England (where she was born) to California, just before becoming a big sister. It worked like a charm, and the move was mostly a breeze for her.

Once she became a big sister, I began searching for books that would really help her understand what it would be like to have a baby around. Most books talked about expecting the baby and the newborn phase, but not much after that. I decided to write my own book series…because I knew she would learn better reading about it in a book than mommy telling her what to expect.

I guess it was still OK for me to simply tell her about it, because creating the books took much longer than I expected. The first book, Itty Bitty Newborn was published when my son turned one. So I was not able to read these books as much with my own children, but they did help me with the process—providing me with new content and reviewing proofs with me.

Also, we absolutely cherish these books as a reflection of our own family. Hearing how other little ones and families have enjoyed these books as well is the greatest reward. We hope these will provide a bright light and positive impact on little ones.

Having finally finished the Big Brother and Big Sister Learns All About Babies series, I am finding inspiration in other big and little changes that little ones are trying to make sense of. Any little lives that these books can touch is an absolute treasure.
